Who we work with

We currently operate in Tauranga, Mount Maunganui and Pāpāmoa with people with disabilities from 16 years and older. We can work with you for a short period of time, or over the long-term, depending on your needs.

In the Community

We offer Supported Independent Living services that provide support in your own home or tenancy, with funding available from ACC, Ministry of Health, your local District Health Board or private sources.

We also offer Residential Support Services if you require 24-hour support, with funding from the Ministry of Health following a Needs Assessment completed by a Needs Assessment Service Coordination (NASC) agency.

SILC is experienced in offering a broad range of support to people ranging from supporting someone for a couple of hours per day through to supporting people with high and complex needs. We can equally offer assistance if you have acquired a disability as a result of an accident or chronic health issue. We are responsive and flexible.

Individuals with disability

SILC works alongside people with developmental disabilities as well as acquired disabilities, including those with complex behaviours, sensory disabilities and chronic health issues.

Families and carers

Plans are always developed in consultation with family and friends if that is what you want.

Support Organisations

SILC has built strong relationships across the health sector, which means our work and partnerships with you are well-informed.

Our knowledge of and integration into the communities in which we work will also be helpful to you. This knowledge allows us to work and think innovatively and where needed, to challenge to get results.
